How RSS Works
There are 2 main components that come into play with RSS syndication: the server end and the client end.
The server end of RSS Syndication is the part of the system that produces the RSS feed. A news website would be at the server end of RSS syndication. A blog or podcast would be at the server end of RSS syndication. The RegionzKidz Blogz is at the server end of RSS syndication. An IPTV show would be at the server end of RSS syndication.
The client end of RSS syndication is the part of the system that consumes the RSS feed. The Mozilla Firefox web browser would be at the client end of the RSS syndication. A desktop RSS aggregator would be at the client end of the RSS syndication. A web-based RSS aggregator would be at the client end of the RSS syndication.
Think of it this way…
You get a really cool print magazine and you want to get it delivered to you at home. You fill out the subscription card and send it in with your payment. (RSS is free though) When the publisher delivers the content, you automatically get it. You don’t have to go searching for it in your email, your regular mailbox. It goes directly to to your rss feed reader and peruse to your heart’s content or you get your fill.
